CBD Sessions – Brisbane

We wanted to work on a project that focused on one city at a time and Brisbane, Australia, was a good place to start. It has the most crew available with Anton Ayres, Mitchell McDonald and Carraig Troy all locals. Since Brisbane isn’t the easiest place to get a solid ride in because of tight security, 7am sessions and late night missions over a number of months helped us get the job done. More cities to come.

Jack O’Reilly

Jacko sent through a couple shots that Jack Gruber shot of him. Jacko has still been putting in work off the back of his epic Backbone DVD section. More from the Canberra and jack soon.

Rex Cubic footage

Rex has some really good clips towards the end of this mix section from the Western Australian Sewer Side DVD. Make sure you watch the entire part though as all the guys go hard.

Samples

We’ve been working on a new rim for a minute and these week it felt like Christmas with the samples coming in. These are 40mm wide which is 4mm wider then a regular rim to combat wider tyres and make them even more durable for everything you throw at them. Chris Whyte is lacing a set up as you read this so once we’ve put them through the ringer we will get them in motion for real.

Carraig Troy in Melbourne

Tiny flew down to Melbourne for a few days for a little getaway from the daily grind. We headed out on a couple missions and came out at the end with some great footage and Tiny was able to see quite a bit of this great city. Here are a few shots from whilst he was in town…

Lanark frame now available

So back in 2010 when we Started DVSN we actually made a prototype frame which although held up with no problems never came out. I think we made 4 of them and I know a couple of them are still in use today. So a year or so ago when we decided it was time to step into making frames we already had the frame design basically done, we just updated a few things and then we had a bunch of the crew thrash the samples and we had no issues with them.

So today I am stoked to be typing the news that the frames are now available here in Australia with the rest of the world in the next couple of weeks.

You can get the entire run down on the frames here but a few standout features for me would be…
The built in chain tensioners which have been working great and the bolt isn’t super long so it doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb.
The hour glass head tube is something I am a massive fan of and with the engraving it really pops and defines the frame.
9″ stand over is so damn good!
Super short back end at 13.1″ has been feeling great for me especially for the ledge combo’s being able to whip it around comfortably.
And of course the no brake mounts really gives it a super clean look.

Cooper Brownlee X Daniel Johnson

When DJ blew his knee out 18 months ago we had a bunch of clips stacked which were used for The Division Project but we also had more kept aside for another project that never came about so DJ hit me up about doing a split part with him. I’m not like DJ where I can bang out hammers on the daily and I spend most my time behind a camera (I can also be a pussy sometimes) so yes DJ has his clips long before I did and he had to wait until I finally got enough clips that I was stoked on for the part. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy this and the good news is DJ will be back riding in 2 months so you will get to see more of him very soon.

Thanks to everyone that helped film this.

Infelise’s rig

Jeremie sent over some 35mm shots of his bike. He’s been running one of the sample Lanark frames for a while now with no problems. The frame drops in the coming weeks so keep a lookout.
